Big photos below.
As you might expect, William Breathes, the solar system's first medical marijuana critic and overseer of our sister Toke of the Town blog, was everywhere on 4/20 weekend. And he brought his camera with him.

Before Saturday's 4/20 rally dissolved into chaos after shots were fired, injuring three, Breathes captured a slew of memorable images, including several shots that capture the moment when thousands at Civic Center Park jointly created one of the largest marijuana clouds in recent memory. Check out the gallery below.

How many tickets were giving out for smoking in public? If I'm not mistaken the Admendment A64 that was passed last year makes it ILLEGAL to smoke pot in public. Will I get a ticket if I light up at the Taste of Colorado this year? Bet I will, sound like selective enforcement to me.

Plainly stated, why does the 4/20 rally even exist now? As I understand it, the 4/20 rally was initially organized as a peace rally and a sit-in protest against the archaic marijuana laws governing our state. Now that Colorado has passed the legalization of marijuana for anybody over 21, what purpose does the rally serve now? It is no longer about "peace" or rallying to change the law. From what I observe nowadays, it's more about people possessing entitlement and that sense of "sticking it to the man" by being able to smoke weed in public. Whoop-dee-fuckin'-do.

@Dave Shmuck

Myopic much, Schmuck?

Only yesterday, some idiotic CO legislators had their voodoo-"science" prohibitionist THC/driving bill shot down in committee. It would have effectively rendered anyone who uses cannabis at all, including medical patients, illegal to drive at all.  Prohibitionists (including those hand-picked by the Prohibitionist booze-pimp governor) are working hard to scuttle A64 (they have already hamstrung A20, the medical cannabis bill). The prohibitionists (which obviously includes you) are not going down without a fight, and the 420 rally's stated intent is all about reminding one and all that the fight is far, far from over.

And that's just the Colorado fight, which is of course only a part of the larger national and international fight to legalize, both for medical and for recreational cannabis. A64 is not full legalization (and there is much debate over what that actually means), it is just the beginning.  If you don't like what's going on now, you are going to HATE the next ten years or so. You might as well kill yourself now.
