For all the good things that come along with more cycling in Denver, there are also some negatives -- including bicycle-related crime, which tends to be committed at some locations more often than others. Example: A new 9News report has identified the city's ten worst bike racks for theft, with many major landmarks making the roster -- including Auraria campus, which turns up three (!) times. Look below to see the complete list, illustrated via interactive graphics of the area; if you have problems seeing the images, click "View Larger Map."

Number 10: 1151 Arapahoe Street -- 11 bikes (Auraria campus)

How do so many bikes get stolen from Auraria? THEY HAVE THEIR OWN POLICE. WTF ARE THEY DOING??! Collecting a check for nothing

People are extremely lazy about locking their bikes, I walk downtown everyday and look at about a dozen or so bikes I could take with minimal amount of effort.  While not lock is foolproof, at least make them work for it, christ.

Anything involving Auraria Campus or the Library is probably more of a problem because those are massive homeless hangouts.

@Joah Mershon If bike thieves (and bikers) were unnaturally hung it would make for uncomfortable riding.

@Bobb ... so what stops you from stealing those that aren't locked?
