Man stabbed to death in apartment on 1100 block of Yosemite in Aurora (78)
If it seems to you that the number of homicides in the metro area has gone up since the weather has improved, you're right. There were three this weekend alone, including a fatal shooting at a Denny's near 17th and Federal and a murder-attempted suicide outside a home at 44th and Sherman.
The third such crime took place in Aurora and left a thus-far-unidentified man dead.
The details shared thus far are below.
Just after 9 p.m. on Friday, May 3, according to the Aurora Police Department, officers were called to an apartment on the 1100 block of Yosemite.
The report: a stabbing. And unfortunately, it was accurate.
The adult male victim had stab wounds to his upper body. He was rushed to an area hospital and surgery was performed in an attempt to save him. But he ultimately succumbed to his wounds.
The APD contacted and questioned a number of witnesses in the case, but none of them were detained, and if there's a specific suspect at this point, the authorities haven't named him. If you have information about who could have committed this crime, phone Detective Craig Appel at 303-739-6207 or Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867); a reward of up to $2,000 is offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person on the other side of the knife.
