Big photos below.
Ever since controversial KHOW talk-show host Peter Boyles was forced out after an incident with his longtime producer, his many fans have hoped for more info about what happened. Unfortunately, neither Boyles nor station execs are talking. Prior to his sacking, though, Boyles was hardly known for his reserve: He always spoke his mind, even (or perhaps especially) when he knew he'd take heat for his words. With that in mind, we've collected excerpts from our ten most memorable Boyles posts on The Latest Word, with links to the original items. Check them out below.

"Peter Boyles street art?"
June 22, 2007

peter.boyles.street.jpg
"This wheat paste poster was spotted yesterday afternoon on the 20th Avenue underpass near Coors Field. The subject of the work is longtime KHOW talk radio personality Peter Boyles, known for his opposition to "illegals," and his anti-gang work. It appears the photo is an appropriated version of a Colorado Media Matters screen capture of Boyles in his former hosting Colorado Inside Out, a panel discussion show on Channel 12.

How's that for trickle-down media?"

"Why Sports Fans Hate Peter Boyles"
August 30, 2007

peter.boyles.on.channel.12.jpg
"KHOW talk-show host Peter Boyles is widely reviled by folks who disagree with his ultra-hardline stance on immigration reform -- so much so that's he's become one of the most controversial and divisive figures in Denver media. As a result, a statement he made during his August 30 morning drive-time program was especially surprising. According to him, the topic he takes more heat over than any other is his contention that people who personalize their affiliation with area sports teams -- crowing about 'My Broncos,' 'My Rockies,' 'My Buffies' -- are misguided and stupid."

Sorry I forgot,

As for KHOW. Sorry the only thing you have left for me to listen to on your station is Martino. You just lost another one of the 193,000 regular “Boyles in the morning” listeners.

Sure kick a guy when he is down. Listening to Peter for so long I am sure he may be down, but he is not out. Peter did more for presenting the other side of the issue that just about anyone else in town. Love him or hate him it was always great radio.

I don’t know why it appears that people that disliked what he had to say would listen to him, but from reading the comments apparently they did!

I listened to Peter for over 15 years and enjoyed and agreed with most of what was said. I sure miss him in the mornings and hope he is doing well.

Hopefully Westword will do an article on what he is currently doing and if he has any future plans that he can talk about. The fact is, no one cares about the incident that happened (OK a couple of wacko monkey butts probably do, but who cares about them). We just care about getting him back.

One down, one to go.  Hopefully Rosen is run out of town as well on a rail, and tarred and feathered for being the agent of hate and division for the region to such an extent that the only individual more hated than him is Nathan Dunlap.

Yes. I didn't always agree with Peter but smart people understand the value of discourse.

Peter, you are more than a radio personality .. you are a connection to Denver's past. If we lose you, then all the memories you have stored away in your head will no longer exist and we'll gradually forget them over time. There is no one that can step into your shoes .. you are our insider to the local stories that no other media figure will touch. Someone needs to be here to keep the bums on their toes and hold them accountable. Additionally, I and so many others are much smarter for having listened to you over the decades. Your grasp of history and world affairs is amazing, and it's opened up new worlds for all of us.

Please don't fade away!

This Peter Boyles obsession with daily posts is becoming Tebowesque... time to move on.

I used to be a daily listener for years, then, at some point, Peter turned into a loonier version of Mike Rosen and was no longer an independent voice in a legion of frightwing caterwhauling. He was no longer interesting. So no, I don't miss him.

@MikeOD Agree with your observations about Rosen. Actually three down, one to go - Caplis, Silverman, and Boyles = good riddance.
