How many second chances does a person deserve?

This question is apt in the case of Roy Seagraves, age 52, who's just been busted in relation to an attack on a teenager in Boulder. His alleged weapon of choice: a pair of scissors.

Seagraves should have grown accustomed to dealing with the law. He's got a shocking record, including a murder conviction and another assault, both of them involving stabbing. Photos and the startling details below.

Earlier this month, the Boulder Police Department released an alert about an incident that took place at about 10:21 p.m. Saturday, June 15, near the intersection of 13th and Spruce streets.

According to a department release, an eighteen-year-old male was walking with a female friend when a suspect lunged in his direction without provocation. The attacker reportedly held a pair of scissors to the victim's throat, but the teen was able to get away, although not before he suffered assorted cuts and abrasions that required treatment at a local hospital.

The BPD subsequently released a detailed description of the man -- a white male between five-seven and five-ten, with a medium build, a receding hairline and a "sunken" face -- accompanied by a police sketch:

The sketch generated a tip, with the person who contacted police pointing officers in the direction of Seagraves, who clearly resembles the illustration. Cops concurred after comparing the sketch to one of Seagraves's mug shots, of which there are no shortage.

He got the chance to pose for a new booking photo yesterday, after police in nearby Longmont received a tip of their own. At about 10:15 a.m., Seagraves was spotted on the 1500 block of Main Street in Longmont, and officers quickly located and arrested him without incident. He's being held on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder and first degree assault.

Serious charges, undeniably -- but not the heaviest he's faced.

If you read the entire Toledo Blade article, you get a sense of the brilliant detective work that initially went into Mr. Stoner's homicide investigation.  "Police at the time said the slaying...probably involved drugs...police found a drug pipe in his apartment."  Drug pipe?  Really?  That's all it takes to dismiss a homicide as "drug related".

Oh.. by the way, what was not allowed for me to say! Was that I took my husband's phone (our community property) to give information to a law enforcement agency. 181704:4 It is not like I had not made previous reports to D.E.A. and Denver Police and others. About his bragging threats of Drug Trafficking Gang, OutLaw Gang and x-in-law Denver Gang connections. One WHO, has worked for the City of Denver, for a long time as a snow plow and street worker! I believe when the 3 T.V. stations come over here in 11-2012. He even proudly BRAGGED, on camera to the 3rd station, of his AFFILIATIONS! Like I said, WHO CARES, NOT THE COPS! YET!

Release ten dealers in cannabis or other drugs, incarcerate Roy Seagraves for life (should he be convicted) -- save Colorado money and make it safer simultaneously.

Not strange to me, this loser is loose! Especially since, in 2010 I begged Boulder's Sheriff Joe Pelle, my abusive husband's UNCLE. For with help with my years of abuse and my husband's threats to make one call and have me buried, and he has seen the DEAD body in the trunk of his friend. Then when I got the nerve to report the continued abuse, to Denver Police. About my broken finger and being STABBED with a cleaning brush in Jan. 2013. The D.A did not charge him. Better yet, one of the reporting Denver Officer's (who I had spoken to a few times about my NEGLECTED reports of excessive hood crimes) goaded me and asked me to PROMISE to call 911. If he was violent again. STUPID me, I did 02-17-13 and the prejudice and negligent cop, who I had previously nicknamed the Chapstick cop. Had the pleasure to take me to jail! After I many times SCREAMED out the door and when free called 911! I was recently convicted for disturbing the peace and and the assault was dismissed it was SELF DEFENSE. 46 days in jail, not sentenced. Still have to jump through CORRUPTION HOOPS! BUT the best part is that at the jury trial instructions, there was an on the record Constitution violation. 181704:4, Per Mr. Bellotte P.D. one of my new HEROES. Had the JUDGE not allowed this CONSTITUTIONAL VIOLATION, most likely I would have NOT been convicted for disturbing the peace! My patient rights have been CONSTITUTIONALLY violated also! BUT who cares, unless you, your family or friends are harmed! HELL..O they ARE! YOUWHO I SCREAMED for 911 help and called 911! Ya think I would have learned! The last time I SCREAMED for 911 help in the mid 90s. The negligent Maricopa Az. Sheriff, needlessly SHOT my well trained German Shepherd in the head! She lived thanks to the other responding officer taking us to the E.R. Vet. in her squad car. She said do not tell anyone, how can I not! You know, Arizona CORRUPT Sheriff ARPAIO the animal lover..HA, would not even pay the Vet.! Any Constitutional Attorneys or Groups PLEASE contact me! I sure could use the help!

@DonkeyHotay Psychiatric evaluation and testing are used to diagnose the cause of the psychosis. Laboratory testing and brain scans may not be needed, but sometimes can help pinpoint the diagnosis. Tests may include: • Blood tests for abnormal electrolyte and hormone levels • Blood tests for syphilis and other infections • Drug screens • MRI of the brain
