Photos: Meet the people who stood in line for Cabela's grand openings

Big photos below.
Not since the grand opening of an IKEA in Centennial two years ago have consumers in the Denver metro area gone as ape for the debut of a new business as for yesterday's twin bows of Cabela's outlets in Thornton and Lone Tree. The crowds were huge and surprisingly diverse: There were every color of cap imaginable (some worn backwards!) and many variations on camo -- plus a cameo by the Denver Broncos cheerleaders.

Check out images from the big day, culled from Cabela's footage.

One Sportsmen's up north, Thornton I believe. Also one in the Springs & Ft. Collins.

Gander will close. Are there any Sportmen's Warehouses left in Denver?

I don't get it. But my best friend will be happy that he doesn't have to drive out of state for it!

They should have built one nice store instead of two crappy ones..

Idiots. Standing in line for another dumb freaking STORE. I will never go there nor will I go to Ikea, Bass Pro. Ugh! There's nothing there I care about!

I'm waiting for Bass Pro Shops to open south of monument.  The absolute best freaking store in the world.  Home Depot and Lowes would be a distant second.

I thought it was a restaurant or health food store.

Yawn. Another 5 or 6 just like it closer to home.

No, I don't get it. I don't get standing in line to get into a retail outlet.

Looks exactly like Bass Pro, so which will close first? Don't see how Colorado can possibly support Bass Pro, Cabela's, REI, Gander & Sportmen's Warehouse

Don't know what a Cabela is, but looks like a Tea Party rally so I'm not even gonna bother checking out their website.
