Video: Two children wanted for $16,000 medical marijuana dispensary burglary
Over the years, we've shared numerous stories about robberies at medical marijuana dispensaries that didn't exactly result in a bonanza for thieves -- like, for instance, a 2012 caper that netted $8 from the karma jar and a broken scale.
Good Meds Network, near 6th and Interstate 25, suffered a considerably more substantial loss -- plants valued at $16,000. But what's most notable about the crime is the age of the two suspects. They're thought to be twelve or younger.
Denver police have surveillance footage of the burglary, which took place at around 8 p.m. on July 21, and you can bet there are images aplenty of the two suspects, since they're said to have lingered inside for around 25 minutes.
However, the cops are not releasing any of video at this point, for fear that the youngsters will become targets of what they refer to as "violent drug dealers."
Presumably by all those plants they've suddenly got.
Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867). Here's a 9News report about the incident.
