Win two tickets to the Rocky Mountain Showdown

UPDATE: We have a winner! The tickets go to Jenn, who won with the following response:

I've always wanted to go to this game. I just don't know who to root for. :-( Poor me... I did my undergrad at CU and grad school at CSU. But I'm thinking the Rams have it this year; just a gut feeling. What do I know? :-)
Congratulations, Jenn. Hopefully this weekend's game helps you resolve your conflicted loyalties.

All you need to do is tell us in the comment section of this post why your favorite of the two teams is going to win and be better than people expect this season. Make sure to include your e-mail address in the comment so we can contact you. Entries must be submitted by 7 p.m. tonight and picked up at Westword, 969 Broadway, by 5 p.m. tomorrow. Good luck!

I'm going with my Rammies! We have 17 starters returning from last season and we've won our season opener in three of the last four seasons.

CU is definitely going to win this game. They are entering the match up relatively health (sans injuries to kicker Justin Castor running back Josh Ford). Along these lines, the defensive line has lost weight and is in better shape than last year. The conditioning of this unit will be key. Go Buffs!

CSU is going to win because they have 18 returning starters and are focused on being the best team they can be to show that they deserve a new stadium!! Ram em!!

Nice try Dave. Don't worry man, boyfriends are like herpes: they are annoying but with enough time and patience they go away for awhile.

@lachupacabra I just want to see the game and somehow herpes comes to the conversation. Nice.

FYI, Westword… I walk around Hughes Stadium every day and I am willing to drive down to Denver just to pick up those tix. PLEASE pick me!!!!!

CSU I'm afraid to say wins this game though I'm a CU fan.  CSU has the more experienced quarterback and always seem to play CU pretty tough in Denver.  A lot of new players on the CU defensive side of the ball doesn't help either.  I think CSU could win 5-7 conference games this year under McElwain.  CU is a few years and at least a couple of recruiting classes away from being able to compete in the Pac 12.  CSU 34 CU 17

Somebody shouted "Mcintyre!" The Buffs' Mcintyre will outwit and out-coach the Rams' McElwain to launch his era at CU. A less ballyhooed coaching hire will bring the Buffs up to a position of relevance in the Pac 12 while the Rams will tread water just below .500 in the MWAC.

CSU will win. Because obviously. "I believe in horoscopes. I was born under the sign of the Ram, which means I'm headstrong, don't like people telling me what to do." That's the ram's attitude. Nuff said.

The Buffs are going to win!  We have a new coach and a new AD this year, things can't get much worse than last season! Also, our young QB looks like he has big potential!  Buffs will win, 21-13! GO BUFFS!

CU will win because they suck just that much less than CSU and for once in this decade they finally have a real coach. They will do substantially better this year because Richardson is back baby! Go buffs and remember, if you can't go to college go to state.

You should give me the tickets because I am a CU alum but unlike most CU kids I don't come from money and I still don't have any and I will be paying for my education there for the rest of my life. And as luck would have it my sig other just broke her crown so now I'm going to be even more in debt. Come on westword give me some reason to celebrate!

In pro football, the BUFFALO Bills have beaten the St. Louis RAMS more times, so it should be opposite for college football? LOL .. I don't know, sounds good to me .. Go RAMS

The Rams will win. I have seen it. I was sent from the future to locate the Army of the 12 Rams, because in the future the Rams went on to dominate the Rocky Mountain Showdown for decades, forcing the CU Buffs to live underground, where it is decidedly damp and clammy. So the Buffs sent me back to your time to try and stop this apocalypse from happening, but I don't see how I can stop it, the Rams are too powerful.......

I'm not giving you my email on an open forum, but you can tweet me @@spbucher. The rams will win this matchup because the program is on the upswing, sick new uni's from Under Armour, a top notch coach, a great vision for the future of the athletic department. CSU's reign as the premiere football program started last year and will continue on Sunday!
