Update: Last week, we told you about the search for Alexandra "Ali" Ponte, fourteen, who'd left home on September 4 after getting into a fight with her mom over a Facebook post and disappeared; see our previous coverage below.

Such stories don't always have happy endings -- but this one does. Ali was found last night and is reportedly safe and sound.

Details and photos below.

As we reported, Christine Duis, Ali's mom, reached out to local media in an effort to find her daughter. The two of them are seen in this photo from the Help find Ali Ponte aka Alexandra Renee Ponte Facebook page:

After Woodland Park police were unable to locate Ali, the FBI pitched in. But the agency was unable to locate her via her cell phone, presumably because the battery had died.

On Saturday morning, Ali's friends, family and loved ones organized a search; she was last seen headed to Memorial Park, near her home. However, the effort was unsuccessful.

Then, last night, a breakthrough: The Woodland Park police reportedly tweeted confirmation that Ali had been located.

This information was subsequently confirmed by Duis on the aforementioned Facebook page. She writes:

Ali has been found alive and well and is home with us this evening. Thank you all for your help. Prayers. Support. Thank you for this privacy during this time. We will update as we can. Please give us some time.

-- Chrissy.

The development is graphically depicted in this revised version of a flier distributed in the wake of Ali's disappearance.

We wish the reunited family well.

Let's hope this brat isn't allowed on Facebook anymore.

I'm glad the kid was found safe.  Now the little snot nose could use a little discipline.

You're right. They're spoiled and they're incredibly naive. I hope she is found and actually learns something from the whole ordeal.

I see Justan's point too. Had I taken off at that age, I'd still be healing from the ass-whooping my father would have laid down. Too many kids are lacking discipline these days. Their spoiled. What's worse, their incredibly naive about the evils of our world. Some imagine running away to the arms of "the love of their life", complete with marshmallow clouds and unicorns. In reality, runaways are far more likely to be hooked up with "Leon the Pimp" sucking cock for a crumpled twenty while rotting away on meth. Cruel you say? Maybe, but statistically accurate. It's a cruel world for many. We've an obligation to search. She deserves that and search we must. She could have been abducted. Whether a runaway or an abducted kid the end result is often tragically similar. I hope she's found safe.

The willingness to just throw people away because they make bad choices or stupid decisions is callous. It must be nice being perfect...

I can't imagine being her parents and not knowing where she is or if she is ok. It really doesn't matter WHY she ran off at this point, they want her found and I don't blame them.

Well who knows what happened. Yeah, maybe she got into an argument over facebook left upset and than went to this park and was abducted...you dont know that her intention was to run away. and even if she did run away, she doesn't deserve to die!

how is a girl who ran off and is causing people time, money, and tons of stress innocent? she ran away over a facebook post....so on that note thats the same sense if you were to run off because of this post. its just dumb.

I just think thats a very harsh statement to make about an innocent teen!

Some kids are trivial. I don't believe that means they deserve for the world to just give up on them. Thank goodness the people looking for her are more stubborn than others.

when i was her age, if i did this id get my ass beat. and no, i wasnt crazy, stupid, or reckless over something so trivial.

Really? Survival of the fittest? Teenagers are dumb and reckless by default. That doesn't mean they all deserve to just disappear or have horrible things happen to them. If it were really a case of survival of the fittest none of us would make it out of our teens alive. You never did anything crazy, stupid, or reckless at that age? I'm sure your parents tell a different story, so don’t be so callous.

in all honesty..this is survival of the fittest. if you want to run off over an argument online, you dont deserve to be found.

@BackOffImStarving Oh if she were mine - she wouldn't be allowed to touch a computer until she was 18 or had moved out.......  Ugh!!!

@Justan Michael Carlson At 14, "most" kids do not have a sense to the fact their actions cause other actions - this generation is truly clueless and it is downright scary.  I have a 15 yr old step son and a 13 yr old daughter and I'm telling you, the though of them running our future is a very dire picture at this point.  And I PROMISE you it is not bad parenting or lack of parenting......  We talk, explain, talk, explain and it's like it just doesn't sink in....

@Justan Michael Carlson She is 14 years old. She hasn't got the life experience or judgment of an adult. Yes, she is costing time and resources, but if you had a daughter you would want her found, so your comments are really not helpful.

@Savannah Guiette Teenagers are stupid, and DEFINITELY not innocent.
