Reader: Colorado needs a colorful logo, not a sad road sign

Patricia Calhoun's posts about the new state logo, not to mention a slogan ("It's our nature") that's uncomfortably close to Cabela's, have led to a lot of debate among our readers, most of whom give the new "Peak" logo a thumbs-down. Here's a typical reaction.

Valerie Cates writes:

It makes me sad. Why did they have to mess with a good thing? I know this is a trivial worry considering what is happening in the world but sometimes paying attention to these little things is important too. I am a native and have always loved seeing our beautiful colorful flag and my Never Summer sticker has Colorado colors on it. Now its kinda like yay...we have a road sign. Might as well make our state logo a mile marker.

Yes, it looks like an awful road sign. I liked the grumpy cat adaptation of this though!

Why do we need new signs? How about new school supplies?

It looks like a less clever version of something Trey Parker and Matt Stone would cut out of construction paper.

Colorful Colorado. Hate this "clean" design trend.
