A lot of coverage devoted to the devastating floods in Colorado has looked at the impact of the rushing waters on communities. But state parks -- among Colorado's most cherished treasures -- have suffered plenty of damage, too. Below, see photos from Colorado Parks and Wildlife focusing on locations such as Eldorado Canyon State Park, the Big Thompson ponds and more.

Canyon - "A narrow chasm with steep cliff walls, cut into the earth by running water"

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/canyon

The canyons (natural) are still forming and putting structures, facilities, roads, etc (un-natural) in canyons where they don't belong is asking for trouble in the long run.  The parks service should know better.

Ya know Westwood, I love you guys but I absolutely hate the format you use for pictures. It's 2013, I should not have to click through 5 pages to look at 20 photos.  I know this is a "first world problem" but I've stopped even looking at your photo galleries anymore, it's just become so archaic..

instead of posting pictures of the flood over, and over, and over, and over...why not be an actual journalist and discuss the environmental hazards of busted oil/gas/sewer lines that no one in the media is covering.
