Big memes below.
It's been just over a year and a half since Tim Tebow was the toast of Denver and the NFL after the Broncos' unlikely win over Pittsburgh in the 2011 playoffs. Since then, though, it's been a steady series of hits against The Chosen One -- the latest being the New England Patriots decision to cut him before the start of the season, leading pundits to predict that he'll never take another NFL snap. Meme makers have been piling on ever since. Are their efforts funny? Mean-spirited? Or both? Judge for yourself by checking out the following collection below.

Religion, as most people espouse it, has no place in football. It does have a place in the lives, and hearts of its proponents, but should be kept personal, and certainly not thrown into the faces of those who tune in to watch a game.

I don't think people reveled in his failure. They just saw that he wasn't a pro quarterback. But I still happen to think he's make a GREAT fullback.

I'm bummed, he was a positive role model for my son getting into the sport. Too many jerks that play well but suck at life, I don't ever think he personally gloated upon his successes, it was all media. He still has me as a fan!

I think Tim Tebow's career completely disintegrating is a little bit of poetic justice, in most people's eyese. He insisted on shoving his religion in everyone's face in a venue that it has no business being in, what so ever: sports. That was completely out of line and that offended and upset a great deal of people. Now that his career is falling apart in a very public way with the whole world watching, it's pretty easy to see where a lot of people aren't going to be all too upset about it. I'm not sure if that's what you would consider "karma" or not, but it certainly is interesting.

Not fair to say so many people took joy in his downturn. I think a lot of people thought he was way over hyped as a football player because of his religion and not his football skills.

I wouldn't call it joy. Maybe if he wasn't built up so much, the fall wouldn't seem as steep.

I think we are all forgetting 45 minutes of absolute boredom and dread.

Yes, it was a crazy season of football that I will never forget. All bets are off when you wear a new uniform.

Should be expected. Everyone celebrates yours rise, and twice as many are happy for your fall. His people had him put out there like that, no ones fault but his own.

I wish he would have gone out as full back or a reciever. I think he would have had a lot more success. I do respect him as a great individual. Not a great quarterback.

He was never a QB and still isn't. He needs to get that.

I was at both the bears game and the steelers playoff game of 2011. I have never been to any game more exciting in my life. I understand not wanting to tailor a system like that around him, but considering the other side of the argument, it makes for some great football.
