Reader: Stop telling everyone what a great place Denver is!

Last week, we shared the eighteen reasons listed by one website for why Denver is the best city in the U.S. The post garnered lots of great responses, but our fave was from someone who'd rather we hush up about Denver's attributes -- and it's our first-ever Comment of the Day that features a sound instead of words. And that sound is....

Denver is completely different from when I was a kid. It totally sucks now and I cant wait to get out. Sketchy people and overcrowding to the extreme.. Ha. Its not safe. I would never raise my kids here. Ever.

My vote - don't encourage more folks moving to Denver. We grew and progressed just fine w/o transplants moving in. And, actually the arrogant attitudes are not from CO natives but from the nuevo transplants moving in. The quality of life has been diminished by the out of state growth. Transplants stay where you are at or consider another state. Let's try to preserve CO's quality of life!

Lol same could be said for native Californians? What?! Somebody's born there. Since people come from all over to California this nativist attitude is a little puzzling. Personally I loved meeting people from other places and every Coloradan I met there seemed very cool. Sad to not to receive an equally warm welcome here. I think everyone is entitled to reminisce about the good old days but I think that's less tied to migration from other states per se than it is to just...change, period. I'm over me.

Oooookkk, I am from Colorado. I am really over this battle. I appreciate what people from other states have brought here. I know that our city wouldn't have become this amazing without them. This state has been made incredible by those who were born here and those who bring new ideas and insight to the plate. That being said, people from out of state need to appreciate how much change has come from their migration here and those born here are allowed to reminisce in that (and how it's annoying how many times we get told "Oh, you're from here?! I've never met anyone born here!). And those that are from here need to get over the people who migrated here because it has made our state thrive just that much more. Let's all get over ourselves.

Doesn't matter, everyone is here already. Love it it's no longer a home field advantage.

Whatever. If it decreases the likelihood I run into mouth-breathers bragging about their native status I am all for an influx of anyone. Denver's rad, and the raddest people I meet are certainly NOT natives.

Do you think Colorado is the only state that gets snow? Most of us transplants can drive just fine in snow or any other conditions. Get over yourselves already.

Yeah, be quiet or we'll be overrun with Libtards and Yankees. Oh wait, it's already happened. Never mind...

It's all fine.... All the transplants are great! Until it snows! Lol! Then your easy to spot!

Yeah. Bad service, horrible driving, mean and stupid stuck up people. Yeah real great. Idiots!

Stop bashing people from other states. Just stop bashing other people.

Don't worry about the Californians, they prefer Highlands Ranch and they can have it. People never truly appreciate Denver unless they've known it their whole lives.

Yeh stop letting everyone know! Before you know it we will be over run by Californians!

Done. I tell everybody what a great place Denver was, back before it puked out its cowtown guts and ended up tragically, and embarrassingly, hip.

Cowtown's gone?! Might be worth visiting now....
