Reader: You don't need to be unhealthy to have a bikini bridge

bikini.bridge.205x205.jpg
Yesterday, we posted about negative reactions after 9News posted about the bikini bridge, an online hoax suggesting that women thin down so that there's a gap between their stomach and the suit's fabric when it's stretched hip to hip. Some readers were unhappy at our suggestion that striving for such a bridge is unhealthy, including this one.

Heather Lacy writes:

I am 36 years old, and not underweight in any way and I have the bridge. This is just normal anatomy for a lot of women. It concerns me that we have actually gotten to a point in our culture where we are vilifying a healthy weight. I appreciate and applaud and admire all you curvy girls. Why isn't that reciprocal?

I am SO sick of you throwing this "story" out here over and over. Consider yourself unfollowed.

This tops it - I no longer care about the Denver Westword online. It's turned into article after article of ridiculous, unimportant, crap. If it was at least moldy entertaining I might keep following. Til then, adios.

I think the more interesting comments from the discussion of the topic the other day were related to how asinine the topic was to begin with.
