Is any place good enough to wait in line for ninety minutes?

Denver blog posts know that time is money.

At our Cafe Society blog, Patricia Calhoun shares a post from a reader who thinks anyone who waits in line at a restaurant for an hour and a half needs to have his head checked.

I guess if you're stupid, rich, and have nothing better to do than brag about what trendy douchebag shithole you just ate at. Goddamn people are fucking lame.

Yes. Super Star Dim Sum on Christmas. Totally worth it.

Waited at Maggiano's that long...and then everything was subpar due to them being overwhelmed. Should have ate a dollar hotdog on the street and went to a movie, and would have been out of the theatre by the time they sat me at a dirty table near the door.

I stopped by pinche tacos and they had a 2 hour wait...for fucking tacos! (see what I did there?) Needless to say I wasn't about to wait for that, I could go to the store and make my own for cheaper and less time :-P

Snooze is good, but not 90 minutes good. For example.

Many years ago we would patiently wait however long, but I think that trend of long waits is not so common now. We typically won't wait at all, since having children, but before kids we'd wait and sit at the bar or what have you. We waited more than 90 minutes to eat at several places in Denver at one time. Racine's used to have a notorious brunch wait on weekends when they were in the old building.

I waited an hour, discovered they were taking more recent customers ahead of me, left, and never went back to that place again. They went out of business a couple months later.

Waits are usually prompted by trends. There are too many decent places to eat usually within a stones throw of said cue - if you don't mind not being cool.

No place is worth more than 40 minutes. Dallas used to be notorious for hour long waits between 6:00pm & 8:00pm. Again, no place is worth more than 40 minutes. Even 40 minutes is a stretch; it would have to be SOME experience. ......
