Green Hick.
When we shared William Breathes's post about John Hickenlooper warning fellow governors to be cautious about legalizing marijuana, we asked readers why they thought Hick was so reluctant to embrace this new industry despite all the tax revenue it's generating. We received a slew of interesting responses, including this one.

L Vincent Miltenberger writes:

Don't forget about all of the lost revenue that the "prescription drug black market" has lost due to legal weed. There are a lot of powerful rich fuckers that didn't want to see this happen....

Reminnder: Hickenlooper made his fortune as one of Colorado's biggest drug dealers. That being said, he surely is handling this whole thing better than any of the other Gov candidates would have. Any GOP Gov would have vetoed A64.

If you don't read the other comments and sense the sarchastic tone than who is really the moron?

Hickenlooper wants to keep a monopoly on it & the revenue here. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why he is warning others. Not to mention, if other states stir the pot (pun intended) the Feds will most likely get involved

The powerful rich fuckers that run the drug education programs, you know, the ones proven not to work? They stand to get $85 mil of that tax revenue. I call bullshit!

Apparently you have to be a shortsighted moron to get a comment of the day.  Who the fuck do you think is going to take over weed production?  That's right, powerful rich fuckers.  I'd tell you who they are, but I'm too busy buying their stock right now.  You're not a "civil rights hero."  You're a consumer who will be sucked of every last available disposable penny.  Get used to it.

they may have no other choice than to legalize it...

Dude, I'm not trying to be a hero and I applaud you for playing the game so well... I'll invest locally in people I can trust. When your stocks aren't worth a damn thing and no one likes your greedy ass I'll be the one laughing with capital and good local base.

@miltenbergerl If I had a nickel every time a stoner or alcoholic said "I'll (insert thing that never gets done)", I'd have retired to the island I bought several years ago.  Rich, powerful fuckers have always controlled the anesthetized masses.  As for your future, I have no doubt you'll be laughing with "capital and good local base", if capital means your "xbox" and your "good local base" means your "weed supplier and roommate who brings home an extra burrito."  Party on, chief, party on.
