Big images and more below.
When it comes to the faith, a couple of Colorado cities have represented extremes in recent surveys, with Colorado Springs listed as one of the most saintly and Boulder called one of the least religious. But what about the state as a whole? A new Gallup poll ranks all fifty states plus the District of Columbia in terms of religion -- and Colorado winds up following Boulder's lead more than Colorado Springs'. How lacking in religion is it? Count down the complete roster from most to least religious below, accompanied by graphics and stats from Gallup.

So you're saying that those fanatic groups legislated for a bunch of people to take this poll therefore making it matter how religious a state is? Because that's what it seems like to me. No it doesn't matter, and if more people could realize that then maybe those groups wouldn't have so much power. You're right, it is naive of me to think that humanity has evolved to the point where we can accept that everyone has different beliefs. My bad, I apparently forgot who I was referring to. No, religion doesn't accept gays, but it's not about religion. Fuck religion. It's about spirituality, and if you're not comfortable enough in your own spiritually that you need acceptance from any one group or person than you seriously need to reevaluate yourself, gay or straight.

Boulder is made up of people that are sane.....! lol I went to college in Durango, very similar

I'm just simply using scripture. God calls atheists fools, so there you go. Just like the law when someone breaks it. Felon. Atheist? Dumb.....

Jesus' greatest command is to love your neighbor as you love yourself. I see nothing wrong with that.

Failed nothing, the spiritual realm exists. My prayers consistently get answered. It's called faith. If you don't believe that's your choice and I don't look at your decision as a failure.

And by definition it is a cult, your bad attempt at euphemism failed,

Already have, study the Iliad and the book of the dead, you know other kinds ofq older history where you plagiarized your belief from, then you won't be so easily convinced.

... And why don't we talk about how your church has promoted and perpetuated a policy of no contraception in Africa, leading to an explosion in HIV infection rates on the continent. And what's up with your church's disgusting, inhumane treatment of homosexuals? The argument that the Catholic Church is a force for good in this world is laughable, and cannot be accepted by any thinking person. You proudly proclaim your Catholic faith when you should be embarrassed, ashamed, and apologetic for the atrocities committed by your church, and take into account the suffering of every single person at the hand of the church before you dare talk of its redemptive features and emotional importance.

Meh, to each their own. If someone wants to be religious, what's the harm to you?

Really? As a Catholic, you have the nerve to talk civility? Why don't we talk about the horrendous way your church has historically treated those who don't believe; torture, oppression, and murder. And how about those boy-lovin' priests of yours, and the Vatican's policy of silencing the victims and relocating the accused to avoid prosecution. Over all others, your religion has more human suffering and blood on its hands than any other. But I'm glad it makes you feel good.

manners dictate no such thing, correctly calling out your cult delusions is owed and warranted and you are intellectual lacking and dishonest for thinking your cult above such criticism. Manners is not threatening people with hell. Thanks

I don't need to debate your religion, your religion debates itself

Ty James Vaden

Yes dear your objection does qualify as debate, you need a thesaurus not a bible

sorry my testimony is the opposite, the moment I dismissed your cult the better my life got. Sorry anecdotes can be matched. Try again.

Ty James Vaden

Im tired of having to deal with your pathetic cult thinking it can dictate the lives of everyone based SOLEY on its ego and narcissism. Scapegoating personal responsibility onto a deity is not you caring more, its you creating irresponsible adults incapable of making logical decisions, nothing about your cult is ethical, nor are we inclined to treat it as such,

Tolerant would be accepting gays, which religion doesn't do. Dont fake naivety to make religion even with reason.

Lol. Good comment, Rachel. I could be arrogant. Or ignorant. But thank God I'm not a dumb atheist...

This Catholic cannot imagine her life without God or her Church. ( for better or worse). However, the blessing is that I also learned of Holism, New Age etc, and the spirituality is inspiring. If you don't believe in God, so don't ; but manners and civility dictate you do not put others down for their beliefs or lack thereof.

I think what make Colorado in the top most llivable is we "live and let live' and despite the ranking of religion, our spirituality is tied to our mountains, our history etc. And this is called "God's country". Maybe why so many want to move here? lol You do see God lol

I moved out of the Bible Belt for a reason too damn conservative. I'm with Rick maes on this one religion=hypocrites.

Religion is made up to teach people a prescribed way of living. Depending on who is ruling at the time, whether it be King George rewriting the bible to teach the importance of tithes, or taxes if you will. Or Muhammad teaching jihad to raise his own army it is just a means of control. We are all sovereign human beings, and no one has moral authority over me. I don't care if you don't like what I do because you are not a God. God never came to the earth and built a church with specific instructions on what was right and wrong. The only truth is the love in your heart, we are all brothers and sisters who should respect and even appreciate our differences. Don't fall for the fake love of a statue that tells you that anyone who doesn't repent will be tortured for eternity. ...that is not love.

You will not find 'separation of church and state' in the U.S. Constitution, but you will find a constitutional provision that separates church and state in the Soviet Russian constitution -Judges in the U.S. have been using the wrong constitution for decades. http://www.departments.bucknell.edu/russian/const/36cons01.html "ARTICLE 124. In order to ensure to citizens freedom of conscience, the church in the U.S.S.R. is separated from the state, and the school from the church."

Just because people aren't Christian doesn't mean they aren't religious. There are other religions besides Christianity.

aleah, read the bible. that's where i come with these ideas. God calls the atheists fools (Psalms 14: 1), and check out Jesus's arguments against the religious people. you see? because you ignore the Word of the one true God is that you think my point of view is extremist, or that God is this dude on the clouds (lol) telling you how to live your lives. But go ahead, keep and ignoring Him or acknowledge Him..or what? do you think God is gonna run with all ashamed just because you fail to believe in Him? or just because you decide that He doesn't exist He's gonna do your will? think again...

Aleah DeGeneres
Aleah DeGeneres

You dont need a God to believe in something higher. Atheism is the disbelief in God, but that doesnt mean they dont acknowledge a higher power. They just dont believe its some guy sitting in a cloud telling us how to live our lives. And how do you know what this so called God thinks of religious people? It's just the extremists that interpret thier holy book as literal who mess it all up...not religious people in general. Your comment is ignorant.

Aleah DeGeneres
Aleah DeGeneres

Yaa you must have hung out with the wrong people. I know very few religious freaks

BTW voting in Corey Gardner explains everything. A politician that argues beginning of life....And were not a religious state?
