At our Cafe Society blog, Patricia Calhoun shares a comment from a reader who says camping out for Trader Joe's Friday grand opening would be impossible -- because he's still in line at Voodoo Doughnuts.

Trader joe's is like a upscale 711 . All the hype will die down .

As a supermarket, Trader Joe's kind of sucks, their produce is horrible and their meat is terrible. As a snack store for Colorado stoners they may find their niche.

I find Trader Joe's is only good for cheap coffee, good hummus, and a nice selection of unique snacks and munchies. Their staple products are disappointing.  However, hot single women seem to love the place, so it may replace the target on Colorado Ave as the best place to find hot, young, chicks in yoga pants.

Have fun heading into Boulder. Tolls from an Australian owned company (thanks to CDOT) will be charging upwards of $14 one way into Boulder. Your trip to Trader Joes plus $28 just to get there and back.

I'm from the east coast I've been to plenty of trader joes. You dipshits are the ones cumming in your pants for one.

Trader Joes straddles that sweet spot between Whole Foods and Safeway.

AAdam Aedro Drotar you obviously have not been to a Trader Joes do you have no frame if reference of it being, 'over priced'. You're like a child who wanders into the middle of a movie... Yeah.

Most of it is not overpriced. Things like meat and produce are expensive but everything else (snacks, frozen, alcohol etc) are priced quite low. Coloradans just need to see for themselves ;)

Joes was actually fairly reasonable when I went into one while visiting California...more along the lines of sprouts or sunflower (are there still sinflowers?). Which is the precise reason waiting in line is dumb....outside of 3buck chuck, they are just another sprouts...

Oh look another overpriced specialty grocery store. Just what we needed to go in between the whole foods every other mile.
