Big photos below.
The Movoto real estate blog put together its list of the ten highest American cities includes three Colorado community way, way up on the list.

No surprise, right? Well, at least one of the picks is genuinely unexpected, and so are multiple omissions.

Count down the top ten below, complete with photos and text excerpts from the original Movoto post, which contains more information about how the rankings were determined.

Number 10: Los Angeles

The fact that Los Angeles didn't place higher also came as quite a surprise. As the second-largest city out of the 100 we surveyed (only New York City is larger), it simply couldn't hold up when looked at on a per-capita basis. That didn't keep it from posting an impressive ninth place result for dispensaries, with one for every 10,324 of its 3.8 million residents....
Number 9: Sacramento
sacramento.marijuana.ad.jpg
For a state where marijuana use isn't entirely legal, California's capital sure placed well. In fact, Sacramento placed sixth overall in terms of dispensaries per capita, with one for every 8,141 people who live in the city....
Continue to keep counting down the ten highest American cities -- and the three Colorado places on the list.

Our collective experiences with Boulder tell us otherwise, Shmuley Joseph.

Do you think I would have moved me and my little family completely across country if it was legal!?!?! Hell no I'd have just moved an hour down the road or drove an hour to get it lol please know what your talking about before you post!!!

Winston Salem? I think they used a word spinner to write their article. No one told them it was still fully illegal in NC I guess.

I'm not sure how the number of dispensaries per capita has anything to do with how many people are "high," since almost all those dispensaries are medical. I don't know about other patients, but I don't medicate to get "high," nor do I normally wish to be "high."

Breckenridge should get a spot on that list with their numbers from January.  With a town of just 4,564 people, sales on marijuana were over $700K in the month of January. Sales in Colorado were around 3 Million.  Breck had a solid 42% of those sales.  Another fun fact, $70,000 is what Breckenridge took in taxes with over $30,000 going directly to the town.  I think right now, everyone in that town is on some sort of high.
