Eh, if being in the #1 state means living in Montana, no thanks. Also, fuck you and your list spread out over five pages, Westword.

I noticed these statistics were based on BMI. I have several friends who picked up crossfit a few years back, and some are gaining enough muscle weight to now be classified as "overweight" and I've even heard about people being classified as "obese" in a few cases due to muscle weight when you use BMI as a standard, one friend was denied a discount on her insurance for being overweight. Now, I'm not technically overweight, I'm 8" shorter, and my butt is still bigger than hers. I'm not saying that it accounts for 0.8%, but it's another factor which maybe should be taken into consideration. I'm sure I'm not the only one in colorado who occasionally sees their facebook newsfeed plastered with crossfit stuff emphasizing being strong rather than thin.

I'm sorry Colorado. I moved to Arizona for 3 years and became a #22 and when I moved back in July '13 I helped bring this great state down to #2. I am trying to live up to #2 status again and if there are any single ladies 30-47 that can help me in achieving my goals that would be awesome. I am 43,attending college, Army veteran...

Exactly with the mass exodus of people moving here, Coloradans have been forced to move north.

Just stand on a street corner in downtown Denver for five minutes and you'll see that Coloradans ARE getting "thicker." By quite a bit.

It's only because of all the newbies. A fair measurement would be to only use people that have been here say 3 years or more. If they keep weighing the newb's then the result's will always be skewed as we are also one of the fastest growing states now too.

It's all the new transplants didn't I read recently that Colorado is the 10th fastest growing state?
