Eight Denver homicides in first quarter of 2014: See where they happened

Categories: Crime

Interactive graphics below.
According to the Denver coroner's office, eight homicides took place in the city during the first quarter of 2014. That pace is slower than in 2013, when there were 22 homicides during the first six months of the year. But that does little to ease the pain for the loved ones of Taunya Carlino, seen here, who died in January. Look below to see the complete list, including ME info about names, times, causes of death and places illustrated by interactive graphics; if you have problems seeing the images, click "View Larger Map." Unfortunately, yes. I live in the overlook and was one of the neighbors that found Chris DeMarco's body. What's even more messed up, about a quarter of our block is occupied with kids like myself who all grew up in Central PA with the shooter and the victim.

& your more likely to die from a bee sting than shot

OK, you get shot, I'll get stung, we'll see who dies first.

Just for the record, in the year 2000 (best stats I could find),

54 people died from bee stings in the US.  28,663 died from firearms.

So... not really guy.

@seanmilano  let's see.  28,663 divided by 310,000,000 equals 0.009554333 PERCENT of US POP killed by firearms.  I'd take those odds any day on not being hurt by a firearm.
