Big photos below.
Outsiders may believe that CU-Boulder's student body is monochromatic and diversity-free. But I, Too, Am CU, an amazing tumblr and Facebook campaign, proves otherwise. Organized in part by members of the African Students' Association (and inspired by similar efforts at Harvard, Oxford and Iowa), the project is wide-ranging, with students from a slew of underrepresented groups holding up signs intended to highlight and, with luck, undermine stereotypes about them. Check out eye-opening, empowering samples below.

Agree with Robbie Ratay. I need a sign to tell me something that most people don't think and don't care about?

I'm so tired of people and their ultra sensitive feelings. People ask questions and learn each other, it's part of the process of breaking down stereotypes.

Such a shame that this generation still has to cope with such narrow-minded views

Just for those of you that want to believe that racism and diversity aren't a "problem". CU was ranked the number 2 most predominately white school in the nation and there have been several reported hate crimes, and a numerous that have gone unreported, just in the last 4 years that I've been there. So, if you want to state your opinion at least know the facts first.

Let's just keep fueling the fire people we want to keep racism alive and well!!!

Racism in the Peoples' Republic of Boulder? Surely, this can't be...Westword get the fuck outta here with this so-called amazement....

Rude. Perhaps. Big issue. Don't know about that. I don't remember protests when a black producer and director put the movie White Men Can't Jump.

Obviously, you've never been to Boulder or been on CU campus...

I know right a city with an 88% population of just one race can't possibly have any issues there-in whatsoever

No, there is still a good deal of ignorant people.

Stereotypes will always exist. Naïve of man to think he can correct what nature has instilled in us.

Man, if only white people were stereotyped as loving great food like chicken, waffles, and watermelon, been said to be a better athlete, and have a giant penis. I don't want to hear about it.

Is it ok for them to make a racist web site called black people meet. Wtf? Stereotype themselves

It's CU. Not the classiest campus in the country...

I think it's a great message, but I don't think it's great to only have white students if they are lesbians or a slut (whatever that one was). Sure we are the majority HERE, but leaving it off negates the fact that there are just as many white stereotypes. Students are going to leave and go to other places that aren't so white-centric. I think it also helps perpetuate the "white guilt" that I hear spewed around campus which is a load of BS too. Preach love, peace and diversity for EVERYBODY...not just those that are blatantly different. It defeats the purpose in my opinion

Stereotypes shouldn't always be looked at as an insult, but as a chance to teach others. Some people have lived in same/safe bubbles their entire lives. I get that "good hair" comment all the time, not just from whites but blacks. My father is Jamaican and American Indian.

As much as they do suck...I can't disagree with that statement. And it goes for ALL races and nationalities.
