Earlier this week, we posted about the ten Denver neighborhoods where you're most likely to get your car stolen, using Denver Police Department data from 2009 to 2013 obtained by Fox31. But that was only one of several offenses for which figures are available.

Today, our focus is aggravated assault, and the results are quite different from those involving car theft; five neighborhoods didn't appear on the previous list. Look below to count down the top ten, complete with interactive graphics (if you have problems seeing the image, click "View Larger Map") and aggravated assault totals from each area.

Number 10: North Park Hill

Number of aggravated assaults 2009-2013: 165

Number 9: Lincoln Park

Where there are lots of people, crime is higher. Cap Hill is a cesspool because of all of the homeless shelters. The same could he said for five points.

Thank God I moved out of Denver as soon as I graduated from my shitty high school that had and still has a 50% graduation rate.

I challenge you all to choose one of these neighborhoods to take a walk in, alone, unarmed, late at night. I wonder how many of you (that don't already live there) will pick Five Points. Prove me wrong :-1

Top 10, top 10, top 10. Can Westword offer anything of substance to us folks, besides top 10 lists?!! This is beginning to feel like a shallow, Cosmopolitan Magazine, Top 10 ways to get your lover in bed, top 10 ways to wear the color red. Come on!! How about some journalism on something relative and important here? These lists are LAZY and oh so BORING.

This is another LUDICROUS Westword "Filler Piece". First off, this crime is MOST often the result of a personal relationship. You don't distinguish between assault as part of domestic violence and criminal attack. Just LAZY journalism and a STUPID statistic to report in such a way. Like this or that neighborhood is somehow SAFER cause their stats on this crime are lower. You guys REALLY kill me with this horseshit sometimes.

Not Capitol Hill. :( That neighborhood is gorgeous. Dumbasses need to have respect for history.
