It was never about "geeky white dudes." It was inclusive since day one -- which just goes to show how much you must actually know about "geeky" people and this convention. Way to take a cultural event that brings in a lot of money for Denver and raises money for children's literacy programs and say absolutely nothing of consequence, other than to insult people with your headlines.

The real question is, When will Westword move past bullshit hipster headlines?

I suppose this is beside the point, but the imaginary horse I rented from the decorator failed to materialize in spite of repeated assurances that it would. I blame my failure to get laid at Comic Con for the 13th year in a row on my lack of a steed

Despite your sensationalist headline, the con 's population was diverse in attendance and pannels

Here is my take the comic/ geek world: It has always been diverse. It's just that we shame girls from the get go, for doing anything people think boys should be doing. We will evolve into a better race of humanity once we drop all the stereotyped roles and let people do what they want(legally of course).

I believe the comic genre is becoming more mainstream so naturally different demographics are entering into the comic con world.
