Big memes below.
It's the Major League Baseball All-Star break, and that's appropriate, because the Colorado Rockies are broken. The team has gone from better than expected to as horrible as usual over the course of the season to date, with owner Dick Monfort making a bad situation infinitely worse by suggesting to one disgruntled fan that maybe Denver doesn't deserve a team anymore. The line prompted one wit to put the Rockies up for sale in a now-pulled Craigslist ad that we managed to screen-capture before it disappeared.

The Colorado Rockies Memes Facebook page reflects the resulting frustration; nearly every recent post is negative, with Monfort and general manager Dan O'Dowd coming in for the vast majority of (thoroughly deserved) bashing. Continue to check out our picks for the twenty most memorable Colorado Rockies suck memes, with the Craigslist ad included as a special bonus.

I prefer winning over the party deck any day, of every week of every year. I love the boys and support the Rockies regardless of their record, but I've got #BeefWithTheMonforts

Mary, what if it's all bad times though? I get your point about true fans, there's some truth to that. Fact is though, the team is spending 30 million less on players than they were 4 years ago. They're obviously not even trying to compete. Yet are making plenty of $$$ of us "true fans". There has to be a point in time, we're true fans, punish the ownership for the product on the field because it's ultimately going to help us win. If winning is important that is. Otherwise, what incentive do the owners have to spend the money it takes to actually compete? Where's the line? I'd say it's now, since it's the 4th straight losing season. Not to mention the fact that in 22 seasons, we've never won the division. No denying, it's because of cheap ownership.

I will always support my Rockies. Rain or shine, good or bad, they are my team, have been since I was four years old at the inaugural game. And if you're going to the games just for the party deck, you're part of the problem.

Rosa, nope. I stopped watching MLB after 2007 when the Monforts failed to ensure local fans had a fighting chance to get seats in our own stadium. No lottery, no standing in line, just an online free-for-all to anyone in the world with an internet connection. Yankees fans on the mall ride with tickets to our staium to root against the Red Sox ... #profe$$ional$port$

"Kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down", Don Henley. If you can't support your team through wins and losses go back to your video games and enery drinks you critical duesche bag loser.

I go for the party deck, but I do enjoy the games. It's not the players fault that our owner & front office suck. The players want to play the front office just wants it's money. They know we will pay so I really don't see any changes in the future. GO ROCKIES!!

If tickets were their main source of income - then yeah, I think many could say, don't go to the games, don't support the team. But a bulk of their money comes from things like advertising dollars from the companies that sponsor the team - like King Soopers, Century LInk and Frontier Airlines. I think it won't ever matter where fans stand. As long as they have other sources of income, they won't ever invest in the team. It would take those companies telling them they will pull their sponsorship of the team if they don't change, the television stations that air the games to refuse to air them, people to stop buying Rockies merchandise and people to stop buying tickets to the game to sink the Monfort's. Realistically, that won't ever happen. I honestly don't think anything will ever change as long as the Monfort's own the team. Colorado will eventually be the place that ball players come to die, so to speak.

The owners don't care about winning championships or building a contender. They only care about the profit margin. As long as seats fill, as long as drinks and concessions are being sold, as long as players are traded once they hit salary negotiations (except for 1 or 2 needed to keep fans coming in) then they'll accept results good or bad. Every action they've taken and every statement they make supports this, from setting the "goal" at .500 to saying they won't go after big contracts/players. I'd love to support them, and Coors Field is beautiful, but I won't support an ownership that accepts mediocrity.

Isn't it plain as day, Michael? The current owners couldn't care less about baseball, they just want to turn Coors Field into Denver's biggest bar, and all you're doing is enabling them. And as long as they're in the black doing that, then the team will always come last. If you really care about baseball, then you need to vote with your dollars. But if you just want to drink yourself silly while looking at mountains, then you can't complain about the quality of the team, because all you're doing is encouraging bad behavior on the part of some very bad owners.

How? We aren't the ones playing on the field or managing the team. Plus, tickets are so cheap for the rooftop with one of the best mountain views in town.

I'm a thrown Rockies fan. I love watching the boys play and supporting my team, but I can't stand giving the Monforts a single dollar. I totally support boycotting Coors field but don't feel it is fair to the team.
