An image tweeted by 9News reporter Noel Brennan. Another image and an interactive graphic below.
The Denver Police Department has released little information thus far about a double stabbing that took place around the stroke of midnight in central Denver. Here's what we know thus far about this still-developing story.

According to 9News, the incident took place near the intersection of 4th and Fox, an area captured in the following interactive graphic. If you have problems seeing the image, click "View Larger Map."

Here's another look at the scene, via a twitpic shared by reporter Noel Brennan:

As noted above, one of the victims was reportedly able to walk to a hospital -- presumably Denver Health, which is only blocks from this address. Emergency personnel found the other person at the scene. Both individuals are expected to survive their wounds.

What set off this spasm of violence? Thus far, the DPD hasn't offered either tweets or news releases about an act that undoubtedly jangled nerves throughout this busy and vibrant neighborhood.

Hey, gun freaks talking about banning knives:

Exactly how would have things been any different if the attackers has an assault weapon of mass destruction.

The knife attack victims were able to walk to the hospital....

Another example of the big city problems in Denver that they're not ready for !

There's violence every night in Denver. Why does the news only highlight some of the stories of violence, and ignore others?

Notice how it says two people *hurt* and not two people *dead*. There's the difference between knife and gun attacks.

Up until the mid 90's that's all that happened down there!

Ugg, someone needs to buy that building and replace it with decent condos.

Time to ban knives! The people who use knives are racists, xenophobes and hate children.

@Gabriel Gonzales ... yet killers prefer GUNS when they actually want to murder other people.

Go figure.

No...we need to require conceal carry permits for concealed knives and ban the sale of blades over 15 inches in length!  #bloomberg

because Westword (and the Post) for the most part just watch the DPD Twitter feed to get their stories, they don't send reporters to actually cover the story; you can get the same news yourself, and faster, by just following @DenverPolice … but DPD only tweets a minority of cases, and not necessarily the most important ones

... they had silencers on their knives.

@theglobalguy There is nothing wrong with that bulding.  West Baker needs affordable housing more than another faux Victorian townhouse development.

... if someone gets stabbed in the city, and there is no one there to hear it, do they still bleed?

@Monkey ... so would you prefer to be stabbed or shot?

Be specific.
