Marijuana: Twelve Updates About New or Changing Recreational Dispensaries
The State of Colorado released the most recent recreational marijuana licensing list on Friday, August 1. That list revealed changes in the adult-use sales status of numerous dispensaries -- including the very first one in Salida to sell marijuana for recreational use, which is opening today. Check out a total of twelve updates below.
The Urba location at 3954 Williams Street has closed. The owners have requested that the recreational license assigned to that venue be transferred to Urba at MMD of Colorado, 2647 West 38th Avenue. There will be a hearing regarding the recreational licensure of the 2647 West 38th Avenue Urba this coming Friday, August 8.
Pink House Mile High, 2008 Federal Boulevard, has dropped off the state list of recreational marijuana facilities, but it is still open for medical patients. "Complications with licensing" were cited as the reason for halting recreational sales at Pink House on the location's Facebook page.
Cannabis Care Wellness Center, the dispensary at 2515 7th Avenue in Garden City, has officially changed its "doing business as" name to Smokey's.
The recreational dispensary license for the Frosted Leaf location at 3819 Quentin Street has dropped off the state list. There are two new Frosted Leaf locations that have been added to the August rec dispensary list, one at 6302 East Colfax Avenue and another at 50 Lipan Street. No word yet on when either of those locations will be open (or, in the Lipan Street location's case, re-open) for rec sales.
And seven more new dispensaries were granted recreational licenses between July 10 and August 1.
Headquarters, 537 Canyon Boulevard in Boulder, opened for recreational sales in mid-July.
Helping Hands Herbals, 1021 Pearl Street, Unit B, in Boulder, has also opened its doors for recreational sales.
Nature's Medicine, 230 West 16th Street in Salida, will be the first dispensary in Salida to offer recreational marijuana. As we mentioned, the grand opening is today.
Sticky Buds Colfax, 4615 East Colfax Avenue in Denver, has obtained a license to sell recreational marijuana; two more Sticky Buds locations, on Alameda and Broadway, are open for recreational sales, and the Colfax location will be the last in the chain to sell recreational pot. Owners hope to have more information next week about when the Colfax store will be open for recreational business.
Pink House Pearl, 1445 South Pearl Street, has obtained a recreational license. Owners hope the store will be open for rec sales by September.
Herban Medicinals, 70 Broadway in Denver, has also obtained a license to sell recreational pot. Staffers hope to be in the rec business by early September.
And the Station, 3005 28th Street in Boulder, has obtained a recreational state license and is shooting to open for recreational sales in early September.
