Number 10: 20th St & Blake St at the corner of Coors Field, Denver

The cops stand there on the sidewalk with lasers devices and pull over everyone in the right lane by pointing at them. The cop accused me of going 40 in a 25. There is no way. I had a whole defense put together but it just got tossed. Stay going 20 on 20th street!!!!
Number 9: Offramp southbound onto Titan Parkway from Southbound Hwy 85, Littleton

As you exit Hwy 85 southbound, you ascend a ramp to a stop sign. The police wait to the east across the bridge, watching for cars to fail to stop. If you roll though the stop sign they will nail you. The hypocrisy: the week after I was ticketed, I watched a Douglas County Sheriff's car roll through the very same stop sign without stopping! (Naturally, I was delighted!)

The pigs are to dumb to catch any real criminals. So speed traps are there answer. Shooting fish in a barrel is easy. Making revenue for the city is the only thing thing they can do

Watch out for motorcycle cops in Thornton, they'll pull you over for any shit! Got my first speeding ticket last week :)

Morrison, both town and 285. They mean those speed limits.

Columbine Country Club. They have their own force, and they do nothing but pick up speeders on Platte Canyon Ave. between Bowles and Mineral. AND these guys harass people.

Virgil Dunn literally butt hurt by Ryan Fox comment! Hahaha Virgil probably drives a prius and enjoys a rainbow parade up his high traffic tunnel...

Eastbound I-70 just past Peña. They sit on the long on-ramp just before the Airport Blvd exit. Three tickets there in 2 years.

Morrison 285 and colfax and federal are the worst

Hampden Ave from downing through santa fe.

Morrison . 285. They sit there every single day. I have never been stopped, but it pretty ridiculous.

Speer near the country club is one of the worst for sure

Good call Walter, now that I'm becoming more and more familiar with the drive to downtown every day.

Too bad for you, traffic violations are considered CIVIL infractions as opposed to actual CRIMINAL offenses. Internet lawyer FAIL.

Yup. They are giving motorists plenty of warning. Yet, these supposedly "educated" yuppie-hipster-douches complaining here and elsewhere on the Interwebz apparently either cannot read or actually believe they are too important and "need" those measly few milliseconds they would save from not utilizing common fucking sense.

Dry Creek and Easter. That's where I live. I was walking to Southglenn and saw 5 cars pulled over at noon time. It's usually during school hours, so be careful there.

I will say though, they usually deserve it. People drive way too fast there for no reason. There's a school and a lot of pedestrians. I've nearly gotten hit there at least twice. The person driving below the speed limit deserves a gold star.

So, consider yourself warned. I always tell friends driving to my place to drive the speed limit and no one I know has gotten ticketed there. I wish they'd pull more people over at night when it really gets crazy, but I don't think there's any money in that.

An up to date list of active speed traps would be a good thing, think of the clicks that site would get.

There is always a photo radar van on the 17th in between Steele and Colorado. Word to the wise.

Uhm addition necessary; Parker rd & Quincy ave. I see them speed down to JAC all the time but ticket folk goin with the flow of traffic which is usually 15-30 mph fast. When someone follows the speed limit theyre angrily passed by EVERYONE lol

Wait, if you count the stationary radar vehicles: Speer near the Country Club; NB Monaco as u turn N from Alameda, before 6th; EB 17th between University & York in front of City Park, not sure the cross street. They even have a sign posted they are there! Hope that helps

Aurora: on Potomac from Alameda S. To Mississippi. They wait there. School zone near by, but before the zone starts. Kinda wish they'd slow Miss down near Parker, ppl go 70 easy and there's always peds j walking

104th between federal n i25 EVERYDAY I see cars pulled over by Santiagos, northbound federal passing Colfax at the top of the hill.

Dan Grund

Just tossing this out there, but it's really shady that the speed limit on 13th/14th/broadway/lincoln is 30, but the lights are timed to get you across town without stopping if you travel around 38 mph. the system is rigged to both cause traffic jams and generate income.

Southbound Broadway, right after it changes from Brighton Blvd., right before Blake Street.

I can see this intersection from my apartment and the cops are there all the time. Especially when the Rockies are in town.

Add: 2 cops on the 20th street bridge radaring cars that drive by underneath them on I-25. They then radio their cop buddies sitting in 2 cruisers on the on-ramp for them to get you.

The gov't shall not impose restrictions on the movement of it's citizens without just cause. Here, the gov't must be able to show in court why a particular restriction (speeding law) is just. That is, it must show the safety of others is endangered by a particular speed limit in a particular area. Most commonly, this is accident history. Absent such, a court cannot convict. (But, school zone speed limits rarely need to be proven as necessary, though, and rightfully so.)

I-70 around Lookout Mountain is a big revenue generator.

The entire town of Morrison is a speed trap. Take a look at a map of their city limits - they deliberately extended the city limits to encompass parts of C470 and 285. The 285 corridor expansion is obviously for no other reason than ticket revenue from speeders. Plus, Morrison has a pursuit policy, while the surrounding jurisdiction (Jeffco) does not.

Southbound 285 half way between the Morrison exit and Indian Hills. The Morrison police might as well set up a substation there.

The school zone one is NOT a money grab!!! Kids safety is important - I drive through that school zone almost everyday and people are zooming along on their cell phones not paying attention - shame on you

Further proof, if any were needed, that Americans can't drive.

It's called situational awareness, people. Turn off the cell phone and pay attention!

One of the worst on the north side is 86th and Pecos just south of Water World. Cops sit in a little driveway next to the apartments on the west side just waiting.  If you are going north on Pecos you may miss him on your left side cause there is a little wall that covers except for the very top of the car.

LOL. Yes, get rid of stop signs and traffic lights. The gubmint can't tell you when you can and cannot go.

If every local government had to litigate each time someone such as yourself b'ched about not being able to get milk from the grocery store half a minute quicker than if the drove the speed limit, they would be broke.  The point of these laws is that they serve the entire community that uses the roads - cars, pedestrians, people with strollers, cyclists. If you don't like a speed limit, you can go to public hearings about transportation and speed limits and complain.

Last time I checked, we're not equipped with our individual bubbles yet.

Fyi, I'm not Ms. Perfection, I've gotten speeding tickets . . . .because I was speeding.  Pay the ticket and move on.

Morrison's cops are just as bad as those in Manitou Springs.

gumptionhummingbird

Agreed. I live near Dry Creek & Easter, a school zone, and I think the ticketing is justified. I saw a car rolled on its side in the intersection last year, and the year before that, a groundskeeper for a nearby complex got hit by a car that sped through an intersection and broke through a fence.

No excuses on that stretch of road. I think the speed's too high there.
