Video: Knee Defender James Beach Sorry for In-Flight Fight But Would Defend Knees Again

James Beach during his Today interview. See the video below.
Last week, we told you about a spat during a flight to Colorado involving a woman and a man using Knee Defenders -- clips that prevent seats from reclining. Now, the man in question, James Beach, is telling his side of the story on the Today show. He says he initially removed the Knee Defenders as requested, but tried to put them back on after the woman aggressively reclined, nearly breaking his laptop -- actions that led to a thrown drink and the jet being diverted to Chicago.

While Beach (who wasn't arrested or charged with a crime) is sorry for his behavior and wishes he'd done things differently, he says he might use the Knee Defenders again. Here's the Today show report.

Anyone ever fucks with a plane that I'm on will get the asshole chant and their ass kicked. P.S. Somewhere, there's a kid that grew up (and her parents) that has never forgotten me. Why? I have 4 screws in my back and that little bitch kept kicking the back of my seat on a 5 hour flight to Maui. I was polite about it twice. Third time, not so polite, if you know what I'm sayin'.

what a douchebag, she deserves to recline her seat the whole 3 inches that it reclines, just like everyone else. what gives this asshole the right to get all pissy about it?

this is totally on the airlines for trying to cram more & more bodies into each flight and charge extra for everything-greed is ruining everything

Unfortunately for him, it most likely will not be mere H2O in his face the next go round.

I wish the people on his plane would have started the asshole chant and let it end there in shame

Actually, I've had that happen. My 15" screen was open, and the indentation just below the top of the seat put pressure on the top of my screen. If I hadn't been quick, I would have sustained damage to my laptop.

People, the onus is on the airlines. It is a feature of the plane; therefore, as a consumer, you should be able to utilize that feature. Yes, it is nice to be courteous, but that is how the planes are designed. I would've been pissed if I was on that flight.

What a punk. He acted as if he's 5 years old. Grow up! You want more leg and working room for your precious lap top, but a seat in business class where there is more room! Jackass.

The whole time I've been thinking it's just a couple of fuckin inches. If it's there, you better believe I'm using it. Not like it helps you sleep any better anyways

She slammed her seat back so hard it almost broke his labtop?! Ok whatever! Because those seats slam back so hard and fast. What an ass!?!

Oh well people usually don't need to recline that much anyway. It's a plane, not a hotel.

Arrogant asswipe needs to pay for a FIRST CLASS ticket if he wants more leg room than the RECLINED seats in coach provide.

... so don't recline YOUR seat, moron.
