This Weekend In Stoke: Copper, Keystone, Roller Girls and more

Where to get some action this weekend? Where to begin? For starters, you'll want to call in sick this morning and make it a three-day weekend: Copper Mountain opens today with its annual Lift Off party running through the weekend. Hit the slopes all day then stop by Jack's at the base for the first après party of the season, swag giveaways galore and screenings of Poor Boyz Productions' Revolver and Matchstick Productions' The Way I See It, then stay all weekend for more.

Keystone's also opening today, your first chance to try out the Vail Resorts' new EpicMix social media app and earn your first virtual "pins" to make your friends jealous and let your boss know exactly how sick your sick day was. Get there by 8:30 a.m. for free donuts and coffee and whatnot, and to elbow your way toward the first chair up the gondola at 9 a.m.

Meanwhile, the Rocky Mountain Rollergirls are headed into this weekend's Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) Uproar on the Lakeshore National Championships this weekend in Chicago as the #1 seed. Download the Championship Tournament Bracket, then follow along with the live webcasts at DerbyNewsNetwork.com. RMRG have a bye in the first round tonight and will skate on Saturday morning at 10:15 a.m. (11:15 Central) against either the Minnesota RollerGirls or the Charm City Roller Girls. Their toughest competition in the Pink Pool is the East Region Seed-1 team Gotham Girls Roller Derby. If they can make it all the way to the Finals on Sunday, they could see a rematch against the Oly Rollers from Olympia, WA, the team they defeated in the West Region WFTDA championships last month.

For skate action of the skateboarding variety, 303 Boards is hosting the local premiere of Toy Machine's Brainwash tonight at Tooey's Off Colfax, 1521 Marion Street. Tickets are $3 at the door, with an all-ages screening at 8 p.m. and a 21+
screening at 10 p.m. The Toy Machine pros probably landed a bunch of tricks for this video (the DVD drops November 15 and will be for sale at the 303 Boards shop), but we know how the Internet works -- footage of dudes wrecking themselves on skateboards never gets old -- so here are some of the slams you're looking for:
