Birds in Arkansas: Ten more crazy things that fell from the sky

​More than a thousand blackbirds, grackles and starlings fell from the sky on New Year's Eve in Beebe, Arkansas. So far, there has been no official explanation for the avian precipitation, but we thought we'd look to other unexpected things falling from the sky for some context.

​10. Spiders in Argentina
Hikers on the San Bernardo Peak in Argentina were caught in a spider-storm on April 6, 2007. And, of course, they had to be enormous, menacing-looking spiders.

9. Locusts in Egypt
The bugs continue to fall. From Exodus 10:3-6: "I will bring locusts into your country tomorrow. They will cover the face of the ground so that it cannot be seen. They will devour what little you have left after the hail, including every tree that is growing in your fields. They will fill your houses and those of all your officials and all the Egyptians -- something neither your fathers nor your forefathers have ever seen from the day they settled in this land till now." Do you know how many locusts it takes to eat a tree? A shitload, that's how many.

8. The Sky
Seriously, how many fables involve lessons about overreacting? At least... two. But still: Are you pretty sure the apocalypse is coming, little Timmy? Better shut your mouth, or Foxy Loxy will eat you and all of your friends.

Best guess on this 2009 glop found in Scotland is that it's some kind of bird vomit or fungus. Delicious.
