Today In Stoke: Ullr Fest parade in Breckenridge, 'Still Crazy After All These Years'
Breck's Ullr Fest Parade is an annual winter spectacle dating back to 1963, and it's one of the craziest events in Colorado. This year's parade theme? "Still Crazy After All These Years." When the parade gets underway on North Main Street today at 4:30 p.m. watch for half-naked revelers freezing their butts off doing snow dances on parade floats erected in honor of Ullr, the Norse god of winter, followed by a pub crawl of epic proportions. The parade starts on North Main Street at 4:30 p.m.; the party lasts well into the night.

Ullr Fest festivities continue through the weekend, with comedians Stephanie McHugh and Rocky LaPorte on Friday at 8 p.m. in the Ten Mile Room at the Village at Breckenridge (tickets $35), and the Breckenridge Mountain Rotary Club's Chilly Chili Cook-Off on Saturday at the Riverwalk Center, 150 West Adams Avenue, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. For more info, visit GoBreck.com.
There's Ullr Fest action on the mountain, too: This weekend is the Breckenridge Ski & Ride School's Rocky Mountain Freestyle Park & Pipe camp, a two-day $230 chance to get some help showing Ullr what's what in the terrain parks and 22-foot superpipe on Peak 8.
