Lights! Camera! Action! Start your weekend in stoke off properly tonight at the Paramount Theater, where they're screening films from the 35th annual Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour, including Life Cycles, Still Motion, Miracle In The Storm, Into Darkness, Wildwater and The Fall Line: A Warrior's Return, a profile of disabled veteran-turned-World Cup monoskiing competitor Heath Calhoun by Carbondale-based filmmaker Tyler Stableford. Page down for more!

Who you callin' "disabled"?!?

Speaking of "disabled" skiers, this weekend is also the 36th annual Wells Fargo Cup at Winter Park, benefiting the National Sports Center for the Disabled. On Saturday the Wells Fargo Corporate Cup will form pro-am teams matching skiers and snowboarders with the top competitors from Sunday's tenth-annual World Disabled Invitational.

Bumps and jumps!

Also at Winter Park this weekend: Check out the Rocky Mountain Freestyle divisional championships mogul competition on Saturday at 10:15 a.m., sanctioned by the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA), and the Winter Park Freeskiing Open in the Dark Territory terrain park.

The Denver sports team you can actually be proud of! 2010 Women's Flat Track Derby Association national champions the Rocky Mountain Rollergirls turn on themselves on Saturday night when the Sugar Kill Gang battles the Doom's Daisies in an intra-league bout at the Fillmore Auditorium, 1510 Clarkson Street. Pick up tickets for the PBR Party Bus ($27) departing from and returning to the Skylark Lounge, 140 South Broadway, to spare yourself having to find a parking space near Colfax (and to get a free beer on the bus).

Skip this contest!

Monarch Mountain is hosting its Slopestyle Showdown on Saturday, but we'll forgive you if you'd rather skip the terrain park to play in the pow: Monarch's had a mindblowing 50+ inches of new snow in the last seven days.

You've come a long way, baby! We know, we know: There's one 5K or another every weekend at Wash Park. But this one on Sunday at 9 a.m. should be altogether awesome all the same: It's the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day, and race day registration ($30) "proceeds support micro-loans to help women sustain their own income to support themselves, their families and their communities locally and globally," according to the event website. Bring a pair of kicks to donate to help with a campaign to battle human trafficking.
