Comment of the day: Prove it
The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre was one of the most controversial horror movies ever made -- so controversial, in fact, that it was banned for many years in several countries. That statement wasn't really the point of my rant the other day about the upcoming remake of Texas in 3D, which is slated to be directed by Takers director John Luessenhop; my point there was that it's going to be an awful turd that will have no redeeming value. Nevertheless, reader Brian takes issue with my claim that it was banned, and challenges me to back it up. 
Banned in several countries? Which ones? Prove it.
Alright, asshole, you're on. First off, here's a Wikipedia list of Banned Films by country. Texas Chainsaw Massacre appears in several spots. In the case, however, that you're the scholarly type of gent who's not going to take Wikipedia's word for it, here's a piece from the BBC News about how it was banned in England.
By the way, those links appeared on the first page of Google results when I searched "Texas Chainsaw Massacre banned," so maybe next time you think you're going to act like a dick, Brian, try Google first.
