Today in Stoke: Must-see action-sports porn at Mountainfilm in Telluride

Categories: Outdoors

Sometimes a stump is just a stump. "Life Cycles" is among the action sports porn featured this year at Mountainfilm
The 32nd annual Mountainfilm in Telluride festival kicks off tomorrow night with free outdoor screenings at the Base Camp Outdoor Theater in Telluride Town Park; the full festival runs through the three-day weekend. While the festival has come to embrace documentaries about the environment, global politics, and personal responsibility (see our previous interview with Mountainfilm program director Emily Long for a look at some of this year's weightier films), we've still got love for the good old-fashioned action sports flicks.

We judged a bunch of this year's films by their trailers to bring you this teaser of surf, skate, cycling and ski porn on the schedule at Mountainfilm:

In The Dark Side of the Lens, Irish surf photographer Mickey Smith pays tribute to his craft, his local waves, and his own gift of gab.

Desert River is director Ben Sturgulewski's tribute to late-season skiing in Alaska's high desert terrain near Haines, Alaska.
