Comment of the day: "For giving G-d the finger, Trey Parker and Matt Stone received a Tony."

Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the Colorado boys who made the big time with South Park, are used to pushing the envelope and making people mad.

But they managed to make one hthalljr so angry by winning nine Tony awards, including Best Musical, for The Book of Mormon that he forgot how to spell God and simply used a dash in place of the "o."

Okay, fine. Maybe he didn't forget. Maybe he was simply being reverent. In commenting on Patricia Calhoun's post, "Trey Parker thanks Joseph Smith, the other author of The Book of Mormon," he said:

For giving G-d his heart, Joseph Smith received a hail of bullets. For giving G-d the finger, Trey Parker and Matt Stone received a Tony.

One of the most egregious lies in this cesspool of a production is that Joseph Smith never showed the plates to anyone. To the godless tony elites, it is of utmost importance to to deny any physical reality to religion.

Both creedal Christianity and Judaism "made nice" long ago by denying any physical reality to God. Maimonides' 3rd principle states that "G-d does not have a body. physical concepts do not apply to Him." http://bit.ly/lKBZ6T

Compare, however, Joseph Smith:The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man's; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit." (D&C 130:22) http://bit.ly/jfHwSX

To Guide the Perplexed, Maimonides metaphorized the Torah. But Mormonism is "burdened" with many physical realities, including twelve witnesses who hefted the plates. You can't heft a
metaphor. http://bit.ly/iixumu http://bit.ly/mJsthy http://bit.ly/lFWKll

The "feel good" message of this production is actually a veiled threat: Mormonism should also make nice and confess that G-d, angels, plates, apostles, prophets, commandments, and covenants are all just silly metaphors.

Ain't gonna happen.

Th-nks hthalljr. We appr-ciate it.
