​It's starting to get a little chilly in the evenings as October begins to push the leaves off the trees, but that doesn't mean there aren't a ton of different activities to keep you busy this weekend on the cheap. Conversacion Contacto at Museo de las Americas (Friday, free)
Have you ever been curious about the magic behind Huichol yarn paintings? Want to learn how to make you own? Then you'll need to hit up Coversacion Contacto today at 6:30 p.m. to do just that. No one said you can't learn a little before you go off and get drunk for the weekend.

Ron Franscell at Tattered Cover Colfax (Friday, free)
Ron Franscell is best known for his mysteries and true-crime writing, but today he'll be signing two books, neither in those genres. First off is his memoir, which details his road trip to the Yukon with his son (queue Calvin and Hobbes reference) and the second, a travel guide detailing crime scene's throughout the Rocky Mountains.

​Rocky Horror Picture Show at Esquire Theatre (Friday, $8)
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is one of those classic midnight showings and if you've never gone, consider it something you must do before you die. Sure, it's over the top, perhaps even a little annoying, but that's what it's all about.

A Comedy Show Music Party at City O' City (Friday, free)
Who doesn't want a little free comedy from the likes of Nathan Lund, Sam Tallent, Andrew Orvedahl and more? Plus, there will be music, apparently, which means you'll be giggling and dancing at the same time -- which actually sounds a bit like a recipe for puking, so be careful. But still have fun.

Murder at the Orient Express at D'Evelyn Junior/Senior High School (Friday-Saturday, $9)
We're not totally clear how this spoof on Agathie Christie's classic whodunit is going to work, but considering it's one of the best murder mysteries around, we're curious how the whole thing will end up going down. Perhaps you will be too, in which case you should check out of the showings this weekend.
