On Q: See Avenue Q for cheap, tonight only!

​Denver's Vintage Theatre took on a major project when its members decided to take on Avenue Q: The Tony Triple Crown-winning adult musical featuring Muppet-like puppets, made from scratch with big, flappin' dirty mouths, isn't cheap to to stage, nor is it your everyday song-and-dance.

The actors actually wield the life-sized puppets that are the true stars of the show, portraying such real-life New York City super-urbanites as Lucy the Slut and Trekkie Monster the Internet porn fan. It's laugh-out-loud, is-this-really-happening funny, with hilarious songwriting by Robert Lopez (The Book of Mormon) and Jeff Marx

And it's now in the middle of its run at Vintage, which continues through January 8. But tonight, and tonight only, the usual ticket price -- which normally ranges from $25 to $35 -- has been cut to a more affordable $20 for an Industry Night performance. But even if you're not the the industry, you get the deal.

Vintage playfully warns that Avenue Q is rated "WTF," so don't bring the kids -- or the prudish -- and expect Sesame Street. Showtime is at 7:30 p.m.; for information and reservations, go to the Vintage website.
