"The numbers all go to eleven.
In honor of Nigel Tufnel Day, we present our Top 11 picks for weekend adventure.

"These go to eleven." A pair of skis pointed for the Park Lane terrain park jump line on Peak 8 for opening day of the 50th anniversary season at Breckenridge looks like an 11 to us. Take a moment to think about how thankful you are for groomed corduroy jump lines on 11/11/11: That same terrain looked a lot different in 1961. Check in on Breck's Facebook page for 50th anniversary giveaways today and throughout the season. Here's a clip of Breck Freeride team skiers Bobby Brown and Grant Savidge testing everything out for you yesterday:

"It's really quite frightening." Nothing says 11/11/11 quite like the entire Rocky Mountain Rollergirls' 5280 Fight Club squad making the international sign for "We're #1" today when the Continental Divide & Conquer 2011 Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) Championships get under way at the 1st Bank Center: The defending champs skate against the Nashville Rollergirls today at 3:45 p.m. Catch the $15 party bus, departing from the RMRG war*house at 5200 Smith Road. Stuck at work? Try the live stream at DerbyAccess.com and turn it up to... you know the drill.

"You can't really dust for vomit." Catch two of the year's sickest snowboard flicks tonight at Cecelia's in Breckenridge, 520 South Main Street, where they'll be showing the Burton team video Standing Sideways and Role Model Productions' Cockfight at an opening day party sponsored by Hobo, Snowboard Colorado, and Monument Snowboards. DVDs of the Burton video come, appropriately enough, with "sick" bags.

"People weep instantly when they hear it, and I don't know why." Swing by REI Denver tonight at 6:30 p.m. for a Veteran's Day/Nigel Tufnel Day double-whammy when Outward Bound instructor Luis Benitez shares slides and stories from the 2010 Himalayan expedition with Outward Bound's Veterans Program and Soldiers to the Summit. The suggested donation for the Outward Bound Scholarship Program is, you guessed it, $11.

"If we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?" Winter Park pushed its opening day up by four days and opens on Saturday, just missing 11/11/11. Perhaps they're trying to turn it up to 12? Book two nights lodging between now and December 18, starting at $59 per person, and get two free lift tickets in the bargain.

"The sustain, listen to it." Okay, we admit it... we ran of steam before getting to eleven. But ask yourselves this: Would Spinal Tap ever fall short of such a lofty goal?
