Not done shopping? Black Book and KAZE galleries still have art for giving
You know you're in trouble when you're still shopping and Christmas is just a little more than a week away. Though the most organized folks have finished their gift-buying and are now focusing on tree-trimming, wrapping and baking, procrastinators can breathe easy: You can still snag hip, edgy, arty gifts.
Jeremy Burns, "Little Friends," Black Book Gallery.
For instance, while the in-demand-among-hipsters Mile High & Rising holiday group show opened last weekend at Black Book Gallery, there are still lots of choice affordable works from such artists as Mike Graves, Rob Mack, Jeremy Burns and John Fellows. Before you visit the gallery, you can see what's still available online.
And Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m., the tattoo emporium and art venue KAZE Gallery will play host to The Art of Giving in a Time to Receive, a one-night-only event featuring art by Sandi Calistro, Sandra Fettingis, Scot Lefavor, karma Leigh, Delton Demarest, Alan Brader, Zachary Kuhlman and Harrison Nealey.
There will also be a silent auction of prime services perfect for giving, including hotel overnights, yoga classes, massage therapy and more; proceeds will benefit Slow Food Denver. Admission is free; visit the Facebook page for information.
