Copper Mountain brings back $99 Snow Day season pass deal
In the 2011 Best of Denver, Westword awarded Best Ski Pass Deal honors to Copper Mountain's $99 Snow Day Pass, a deal so sweet -- last year there were more than thirty eligible "Snow Days" at Copper, and $99 is less than the price of a single-day lift ticket at certain other Summit County resorts -- that we figured the resort probably wouldn't be offering it again.
How wrong we were.
The pass, which went on sale today, is good any day that Copper Mountain is reporting at least four inches of new snow, with no blackout dates -- making it the perfect deal for anyone who's a slave to the snow report. It's also good for guaranteed access to the mountain on February 5 (Super Bowl Sunday is always one of the best days of the year to have a ski area to yourself, and will be doubly so if Tim Tebow can keep working his miracles) and on closing day, slated for April 15. As a bonus perk, the Snow Day Pass comes with two Friends & Family vouchers good for discounted $69 lift tickets.
You'll know if the Snow Day Pass is valid on any given day by 5 a.m. -- via e-mail , or by following Copper's Facebook feed, or by tuning in to the official snow stake web cam -- which should give you plenty of time to call in "sick" and head for the hills.
Gotta love Copper's "Four inches has never been so satisfying" marketing campaign for the pass deal:
