Kurt Miller's adaptive skiing documentary The Movement premieres tonight at Boulder Theater
The word "disabled" continues to shed meaning this week as many of the biggest names in adaptive sports are in Breckenridge for the Disabled Sports USA Hartford Ski Spectacular, an annual winter sports festival that brings hundreds of athletes and aspiring athletes to Colorado for adaptive ski and snowboard lessons, Nordic and Biathlon ski clinics, race camps, sled hockey and wheelchair curling clinics, and a festival village with demo gear and vendor displays from many of the companies supporting the adaptive sports movement. To get a better sense of what that movement is about and some of the intensely personal stories behind it, don't miss the local premiere of Kurt Miller's documentary The Movement: One Man Joins an Uprising tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Boulder Theater ($12 general admission, $50 VIP). Miller and featured athlete Matt Feeney will be on hand for the premiere of the film, which is narrated by Robert Redford and Miller's father, ski film legend Warren Miller (trailer after the jump).
