Reader: Goodwill hunting for Cherry Creek shoppers a stupid idea

• Yes goodwill helps the community but has begun having lots of their items over priced. Im sure that this new Deja Blue store will be no different. This is just a way for them to really over price items that they have no proof of being real or not. i shop at the current goodwill stores regularly but at this point i am starting to agree with Thaishay with the prices that i have seen more recently i might as well start shopping on ebay. You cant expect a person to pay the same price for items that are "used" as they would if they were new regardless of the name brand. Hopefully the ARC will take advantage of goodwill over pricing their items. the ARC has more 50% days anyway. I agree good will helps the community but if items are so overpriced that people dont want to pay for them who are they going to be able to help  in the end? ~ signed faithful goodwill shopper but not for long.

• Agreed, how many people in Cherry Creek are looking to buy "used" items? it makes no sense. Not to mention that Goodwill does a horrible job of knowing when something is authentic versus fake. I wish them the best but cant imagine that they are going to see the expected profits. You're better off buying used high end items on ebay. At least then if they are not real you can file a complaint!

• First and foremost, Goodwill’s number one priority as an organization is to help people in the community.  Raising dollars for our programs by the sale of goods in our stores is the number one way Goodwill funds our mission.  While we feel we have always and will continue to offer some of the lowest prices in retail for the value of the goods, we are always looking for ways to maximize revenue streams to help struggling individuals in our community. We're working closely with our donation attendants and processors to make sure items of value are marked according to their worth. You can still count on a great deal at Goodwill no matter which store you visit, and know that you are supporting a nonprofit that serves more than 18,000 at-risk youth, struggling adults, and individuals with disabilities in the Denver metro area every year.
