Categories: Things To Do

Just because you're scrambling to get the rent together this weekend doesn't mean you have to stay inside and mope. From a vegan prom to a Mexican wrestling-themed dance party, we've got everything to do this weekend all in one place, and for under $10. So go out and enjoy the sun, check out some of these awesome events, and don't worry about the strain on your wallet.

Untitled #45 (Haute) at the Denver Art Museum (Friday, $10)
The Untitled series at the Denver Art Museum continues today with Haute (that sure seems like a title, doesn't it?). The fashion-centric evening is set to complement the Yves Saint Laurent exhibition, featuring free art-inspired haircuts, a sewing workshop, and a fashion show. This should be a great chance to dress your best, view the new Laurent exhibit, and of course, party.

Backcountry Film Festival at The Wildlife Experience Museum (Friday, $10)
Ski season may be winding down, but that doesn't mean you can't live vicariously through the adventures of others. This film fest will celebrate adventurous skiing tonight, with one film providing an up close look at the wilderness of South America. It's sure to be the next best thing to cutting powder yourself.

Bruce Conner and the Primal Scene of Punk Rock reception at the MCA Denver (Friday, $5-10)
The punk rock art project, Search & Destroy, continues at the MCA tonight with the opening of Bruce Conner and the Primal Scene of Punk Rock. And a show on punk wouldn't be complete without music. Mario Zoots, Magic Cyclops and Ginger Perry will provide the soundtrack to the night which, among other things, includes a conversation with Steven Wolf and musician Penelope Houston. Pierce your ear with a safety pin and dust off your studs & leather.

The Grawlix Episode 14 at The Bug Theatre (Friday, $7)
The new episode of The Grawlix is out tonight, bringing together the comedy of Ben Roy, Adam Cayton-Holland, Julian McCullough, and 2012 Westword Mastermind Andrew Orvedahl. This stand-up night will feature (duh) lots of laughs, and since the last two have sold out, it might be a good idea to pick up tickets early so you don't miss out.

Square of Ice at the Jones Theatre (Friday-Saturday, $10)
In an American Idol-style competition, entrants will battle to win a $500 prize tonight at the Jones Theatre. It's all for the Cash--and we're not just talking about the money. The night was designed as an homage to Johnny Cash, so the diverse array of performers will pay tribute to the man in black. Walk the line tonight for this one-of-a-kind performance.
