Read thisinterview with Patty Schemel, go see the film and see Schemel answer questions after the film. Become an instant-expert.

The Cutting Edge at Three Little Birds Salon (Friday, free)
Spend First Friday somewhere a little different tonight -- at a salon. Three Little Birds Salon will host the art of mother and son team Joetta Mallett and Marz Meyer and provide all the traditional First Friday fare: cocktails, fun, and of course, art. Meyer works in found material, transforming cardboard and other pieces of discarded items into multimedia pieces, and his mother restores decorative furniture. See it all tonight.

Within You, Without You at RedLine (Friday, free)
