Ten things to do for $10 this weekend, May 4-6, 2012
Cinco de Mayo Weekend at Mezcal (Friday-Saturday)
Enjoy live mariachi music from Sol de mi Tierra and Tito del Barrio two nights at this delicious restaurant. It promises to be a party filled with Cinco de Mayo festivities, a scrumptious Mexican barbecue and killer drink specials. We suggest a margarita to get into the spirit.
Festival of Nations at the University of Denver (Saturday, free)
DU's annual celebration of international culture of all sorts is a good bet for a variety of things to do on Saturday. It will be filled with food, music, and games from all around the world and should be a great chance to get out of the house and enjoy some diverse entertainment.
Cinco de Mayo Festival at Civic Center Park (Saturday-Sunday, free)
This two-day giant party in the park will have something for everyone: jammin' chihuahua races, a green chili cook-off, a parade, and tons of musical entertainment. As always, it will be a great place to eat good food, listen to music, and join the fiesta.
Death By Radio at Vintage Theatre (Sunday, $7)
Put on by One Night Stand Theater, this nighttime show includes mystery and suspense tales culled from old radio play material. The spooky, one-night-only night promises an exciting night of live theater, and with a lower admission price than a movie ticket, you'll definitely get your money's worth.
Free Day at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science (Sunday, free)
Free museum days are the best. In addition to getting to wander around the Denver Museum of Nature & Science totally cost free, the museum also provides an array of fun events including face painting, old west storytelling, and paleopuppeteer Mr. Bones performing with his life-size dinosaur puppets. Now that's something you don't see every day.
