"At one point, over 2,000 miles of narrow-gauge track probed the mountains of Colorado," claims the Colorado Railroad Museum. Granted, this ol' fixed gear bike can't really travel on any of those tracks, but it can cross them repeatedly when in the right part of town.
Did you know that in 1888, that last five cars of a Colorado Springs-bound freight train -- carrying explosives and flammable liquids -- became unhitched and started heading back toward Santa Fe on the down-sloping track? It blew a hole in the ground fifteen-feet deep and 35-feet wide when it collided with another train.
