Colorado filmmakers to watch for at Mountainfilm in Telluride this weekend

Categories: Film and TV

Mountainfilm in Telluride is celebrating its 34th anniversary this weekend, through May 28, and we're duly impressed by the the list of Colorado-based filmmakers in the mix. Here's a preview:

Telluride-based filmmaker Beth Gage is the current Board President of Mountainfilm in Telluride and is bringing her second documentary, Bidder 70, to the festival. The film follows the story of environmental activist Tim DeChristopher, now in federal prison after fraudulently buying up oil and gas leases in a 2008 protest at a BLM auction.

Salida-based director Sam Bricker is bringing his third short to Mountainfilm: Ernest follows octogenarian backcountry survival teacher Ernest Wilkerson ("a local legend in Monte Vista, Colorado").

Telluride local Scott Ransom's documentary Lady B's First Winter follows Telluride ski patroller Gary Richard through a year of training with Lady Beatrice, a rookie avalanche dog.
