Help people affected by the Colorado wildfires
You don't need more than $10 to do some good for those affected by the wildfires spreading across the state, so before you go out and do anything fun, do something to help. Whether it's a small financial contribution, donating household items or simply giving time, helpnowcolorado.org has plenty of ways you can make a difference.
We're Not Open Yet Dance Party at Nooch Vegan Market (Friday, by donation)
Nooch Vegan Market hasn't yet opened, but that doesn't mean it can throw a killer dance party. The market will provide the city with an all-vegan food, local produce and clothing shop; it just met its Kickstarter goal, and now is raising more funds with a party. Groove to the tunes of DJ Brian Polk, purchase vegan snacks, and donate to make this store a reality in Denver.
New Belgium Clips of Faith at Twenty Ninth Streetin Boulder (Friday, free)
The reward of these long, hot days is that they create pleasantly warm nights, which you can take full advantage of tonight at the third round of New Belgium's outdoor film festival. Drink beer provided by New Belgium (of course) and watch a series of independent short films while you enjoy the weather (for a change).
The Grawlix has been out of town for a while, putting on comedy shows for audiences in Seattle and Los Angeles, but Episode 17 will be back in Denver. Enjoy hilarious comedy from Karl Hess, Kevin O'Brien, a secret guest who hails from New York -- and, of course, the latest episode of the web series featuring the Nix Brothers.
Stacey Pullen at NORAD (Saturday, $10)
A great bet for a dance party is this Detroit DJ's appearance tonight along with DJ Sense, Andrew Kevens, Ejay, Ivy and Bones. The popular DJ is sure to get folks onto the floor with his groundbreaking techno mixes that will help you celebrate the summer with movement and lots of sweat.
