Tonight: Meet the artists of Faces, Places & Spaces at the Arvada Center

The Arvada Center gallery's current Faces, Places & Spaces three-show summer extravaganza features a bevy -- actually, a real beauty pageant -- of artists from Colorado or with Colorado ties, and the result is a refreshing look at this state. The best way to get a feel for many of these artists is through artist talks, and tonight the center will host the first of two scheduled for these shows with the web radio broadcast Untitled Art Show's Erik Isaac and Mike Keen -- two guys who know how to talk to an artist -- moderating.

Find out what artists think about the show's various subjects from a cross-section that includes Faces painters Danyl Cook, Adam Milner and Xi Zhang; Places depicters Sarah McKenzie and Chandler Romeo; and Spaces interpreter Lanny DeVuono.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. panel, and an artist mingle follows from 8:30 to 9 p.m.; somewhere in there, you should have a little time to take in the shows. Six more contributors will speak with the Untitled boys at 1:30 p.m. on August 4; admission to either event is free. For information visit the Arvada Center online or call 720-898-7200.
